It's a cool, sunny day at 7:30am at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds on Sept. 3rd for the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational.  The Bulldogs set up camp, prepare for the day's races and go walk the course.  Coach Eberhard and Coach Christensen go over all the details to make sure everyone's ready to go.  The day will become hot, dry & dusty, but for now it's just chilly.  In the next hour all the open spaces around our camp will be filled with other camps and lots of runners, coaches and spectators.

The girls get prepared, putting the timing chips on their shoelaces, pinning racing bibs onto their jerseys and getting ready to run.

Meanwhile, the JV boys race is underway................

After the JV boys finish, the girls begin.  This is a combined 1A, 2A and 3A race so there are a lot of runners on the course!

Next the varsity boys get warmed up.  Yes,these are actually warmup exercises, not any weird worship ritual!!!  The boys have fun with it,
and spectators all around get a kick out of it.  Next up, the 1A, 2A, 3A combined race.

It's a good day for the Bulldogs.  The Junior Varsity boys run a strong race, however scoring isn't kept for this JV run. In the varsity girls race, our short-handed team takes 22nd out of 29 teams.  Natalee finishes 53rd, Amie 103rd, Chase 133rd and Maddie 149th.  The varsity boys WIN the team title!  Garrett Coles finishes 2nd, Garret Roberts 14th, Dan Eberhard 20th, Kelton Lightfoot 38th, Sam Rhoton 42nd, Michael Ebens 67th and Nathan Coleman 87th.  Because of technological breakdowns, we won't find out that we won until late Saturday night, so our celebration will have to take place later.
