It's Friday, September 30th, at Mead High School. The Mead Stampede is beginning. First up: the Junior Varsity races. The Bulldogs get their last instructions from Coach Eberhard & Coach Christensen and get to work. The races start and finish on the grass practice fields, but most of the time the runners are on trails in the back lots, east of the school. The finish is back on the grass fields where fans cheer them home.

The JV Bulldogs run well. Now it's time for the top-ranked varsity 'Dogs to take to the course. Today they're working on pacing each other and helping some of the team work back up to where they expect to be. It's a day for teamwork and having fun while competing, but the 'Dogs have worked hard this week and have tired legs. What will today bring?

The varsity boys finish strong. They're tired, sore and thirsty but feel that they've run well today. Now we wait for the final results to be posted, and turn to cheering on the varsity girls.

The girls run very well - most set new PR's on this day. They're improving quickly and working harder and harder. They have to take some big steps to qualify for State in the next couple of weeks.....but they've been taking big steps the past couple of weeks! Keep up the great work, Bulldogs!

The varsity 'Dogs bring home another 1st Place trophy and a pile of medals and ribbons. The team places 7 runners in the top 20 finishers - Dan gets 4th, Garrett C 5th, Garret R 7th, Alex 9th, Sam 17th, Kelton 19th, Jordan 20th and Andres 28th. Their hard work during the week doesn't stop them from putting on a great show in the meets.....but it sure makes it tough. The 'Dogs are focused on competing for a State Championship in a few weeks. Go Bulldogs!
